  7. Mar 05,  · Deacon Blue's first and arguably best album. Born in a Storm sets the tone as a poetic intro to the track Raintown with its cascading of piano at the start like rain running down a window as the song bemoans being away from home and all you love. I think I heard that Ragman is about Ricky meeting a singing idol and blowing it!/5(81).

The album, written largely by lead singer Ricky Ross, was released in the United Kingdom on 1 May It proved a commercial success and has to date sold around a million copies, peaking in the UK Albums Chart at no. 14 and remaining in the charts for a year and a half.
